Do I need an architect?
Jason is capable of manipulating the interior space of your home as well as changing walls, windows and doors as necessary in order to facilitate a new design. In certain instances a licensed architect or engineer is required when structural changes are made and can be arranged directly through Amazing Spaces. For those projects that include adding space to your home a licensed architect is necessary and Jason would be happy to recommend an appropriate professional to fit your needs.
How long does it take to complete the design process?
Although there are always exceptions the average amount of time usually ranges between 4-8 weeks. This time table depends on the complexity of your design, the level of detail, your ability to make decisions, and your availability to schedule meetings. Jason never likes to rush the design process but has completed a project in as little as two weeks. On the other end of the spectrum, some projects have stretched over a year.
Will you help me make decisions for my project?
The success of your project greatly depends on the right mixture and balance of materials, colors, and textures. For cabinetry projects (kitchens, libraries, pantries, laundry rooms, custom built-ins) Jason will help you decide on cabinet styles and finishes, countertop and backsplash materials, decorative hardware, flooring, lighting, and wall finishes. For all other space planning design projects such as basements, master bedroom suites, etc, Jason’s responsibilities end with the delivery of the design drawings.
How long does it take to get cabinets?
Depending on the manufacturer, we usually allow between 8-12 weeks for delivery.
How much is your design fee?
Our design retainer ranges depending on the scope and complexity of the project as well as the level of design service selected. This is reviewed and accepted by the client in advance. The design fee (in part) may be applied to the purchase of cabinetry from Amazing Spaces.
How do I know I will like the design?
Jason is a great listener and truly understands the needs of his clients which is evidenced by his numerous design awards, published works, and glowing testimonials. In 27 years he has exceeded the expectations of all his clients.
What products do you provide?
Amazing Spaces has partnered with custom cabinet manufacturers that have exceptional quality, capability and value. All other materials can be purchased directly from Amazing Spaces trade sources.
How do I determine the quality of your products without a showroom?
In addition to the many samples and custom cabinetry located at the design studio of Amazing Spaces, Jason can arrange for you to visit one or more of his client’s projects that have been completed with the manufacturer of your choice. In many cases, clients prefer this method of shopping since the products are being used in a real world environment.
Who is the point person for my project?
Jason Landau will personally design and orchestrate your entire project and will liaison with all other trade professions.
Do you provide a design only service for cabinetry projects?
Yes, However, Amazing Spaces will take no responsibility for cabinetry or installation services purchased elsewhere.
How much does a new kitchen cost?
There is no easy answer to this question as the price of a new kitchen depends on many variables. There are two areas that must be defined prior to determining an exact figure. One is the labor which includes the removal of the existing kitchen (if it is a renovation project), preparing the space for the new design including all construction, electrical, plumbing, flooring, and cabinet installation. The second is the price of the materials selected, which in itself is a myriad of choices. Cabinetry cost is determined by amount, construction method, door style, wood species, finish, interior accessories, molding details, etc. Without a fully executed design concept no professional can accurately budget the cost of your project. However, with Jason’s 27 years of experience he can usually ballpark the cost within 15% during his initial consultation.
Who do I call if I have a problem with our new cabinetry?
Our number one concern at Amazing Spaces is our client’s satisfaction. This not only applies during the renovation process but long after its completion.
