DESIGN STORY
We wanted to take advantage of the entire room while maintaining well-defined work zones. Shifting the dining room door from one side of the wall to the other allowed better flow and the creation of two work zones: one for the cook and one for everyone else. An island including a dedicated prep sink also adds valuable workspace for the chef. The slider to the deck was replaced by a single swing door, enabling us to increase the length of the kitchen to include a dining counter in lieu of the existing table. Lastly, we created a bonus bar/beverage area which features convenient refrigerator drawers.
